In the recent days, I have asked myself a question: where is the Jamul country spirit?
It just seems that the spirit is fading. This really concerns me, and I am sure a lot of you, because we love the country way of life.
I am really hoping that most of our new neighbors, who are building and buying new homes here, are not just coming because of property value and investment. I hope that they are coming because they like this community and would like to be a part of it.
I would like to suggest a park where we can gather and have picnics. A big park where the teens can play volleyball and kids have a jungle gym and adults have picnic tables and some gazebos…a place to gather and hold some events. For the record, I would also like the park to allow pets. Dogs make the perfect Frisbee playmate.
We do have some isolated small areas like this, and I know that the Fourth of July event is still held at the Nursery. But a park for individuals and families to go to and simply enjoy a birthday picnic or a summer evening where more of us can meet would be fantastic! Don’t you think?
If you know someone who can begin the process of doing something like this, please email me. I would be grateful to post these matters on JamulCountry.com. We can all enjoy the country spirit that I am really missing. Or is it just I?
Of course, if you have a better idea or would like to include you own thoughts on this site, please contact us and let us know.
Thank you!
